Don’t just leave your spiritual armor in the closet for an emergency. Take it out daily. Use it, polish it, let it become like a second skin so that it and you will be ready when the battle comes.
When you have to go into battle you need to be prepared. Often this includes mental and physical training and conditioning. You also need to understand your weapons and safety gear and how they function. They need to become a part of you so that when you must act, you can do so without fumbling around or struggling to remember what to do and how to do it. The same is true with spiritual warfare.
Ephesians 6:11-17 describes our spiritual arsenal. We are fully armed and clothed when we have:
· the belt of truth
· the breastplate of righteousness
· the footwear of the preparation (readiness) of the gospel of peace
· the shield of faith
· the helmet of salvation
· the sword of the Spirit (the word of God).
How much time have you spent familiarizing yourself with all these things?
Truth. Righteousness. Preparation/Readiness. Faith. Salvation. The Word of God. These six things are powerful. They protect us and enable us to beat back Satan and his minions. When was the last time you exercised each of these in your life?
The world is constantly feeding us lies, adding to the ones we already tell ourselves. The truth is liberating. We are more than conquerors in Christ. We are not the weak, helpless creatures that the devil wants us to believe that we are. The song “The Voice of Truth” by Casting Crowns is a very powerful one. How can you exercise more truth in your life today? How can you stop listening to and acting on the lies?

How about faith? When was the last time you really exercised your faith? When did you take the leap of faith or put yourself out there, believing God would catch you? “Let Go” by BarlowGirl is a great song that talks about doing just that. I
s God calling you to do something without you knowing how it’s going to turn out? What step or leap of faith has He been asking you to take?
When we listen to the lies instead of the truth, Satan wins. When we fail to step out in faith Satan wins. When we stand up to fight him, refute his lies, and have faith that we are mightier because our God is the Lord, WE WIN.
